Margaret Ward is a feminist historian and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Queen’s University Belfast. Her most recent book is Rebel Women (2024). She is also the author of Unmanageable Revolutionaries (2021) and Fearless Woman (2019).
For decades, northern republican women’s stories were silenced by state censorship, academic neglect, and fear. Margaret Ward explores the barriers to uncovering this history, arguing that hearing these voices is essential to confronting the true legacy of partition.
